2011 golden globes...

assalam alaykum......... the 2011 golden globes held in beverly hills on the 16th of January, btw ,was the 68th of the awards, was truly a delightful event! some stars were dressed beautifully, while some outfit choices were quite questionable.as usual the event was covered by guilina rancic, ryan seacrest and the fashion police crew, who also looked fantastic. a few of my favourites, and not so favourites are listed below:

arabbitch

salam alaykum,.....everyone knows a bitch means, either female dog or in terms of an insult to a woman. well an arabitch is none of those. an arabitch is a Beautiful, Independent, Tactful , Creative and Honest Arabian woman. arabitches are strong they are intelligent, they are religious, they are sophisticated , they are fashionable, they are beautiful in and out, and most of all they believe in themselves. being an arabitch does not mean you should be ignorant, it means you should help people, it means you should remember God in everything you do! remember that this life is not forever, and remember that whatever you do, know that Allah (SWT) is watching you! so remember: (my favorite hadith)

jumpsuits and rompers

salam alaykum ....... jumpsuits and rompers have been around for quite along time. it traces way back to 1918, when they were first made as womens factory uniforms. this may just be me, but when i hear the word jumpsuit, i think mechanic or plumber! after all it is what they wear for work, but the fabric for the uniforms are 'mucho' different from the fashion staples that we wear, below you will see, how i have created a stylish yet modest daylook romper outfit from head to toe, perfect for an arabitch with a petite waist, also when buying outfits make sure it fits right. clothes that fit too loosely ages you, and too tight clothes makes you look trashy...do go easy on the makeup.....and the scarf is for your head not your neck!!

salam alaykum, here is a thrilling story that is worth reading......
once upon a time, there was a man in the jungle enjoying a nice day, watching the equatorial lush green foliage and the exotic animal life.suddenly, the man heard the movement of a lion behind him, and so ran for his life.But the man couldn't escape and came face to face with the lion.as he was thinking quickly of another way to escape, he saw a deep well to his right.his options were drowning in the well and being chewed by the hungry lion. the man decided to jump into the well, hoisting himself with a rope tied to the top of the well, the man saw a huge man-eating snake taking a nap at the bottom; the man pulled himself up in the middle of the well, suspended between a hungry lion on the top and a sleeping snake at the bottom. meanwhile the man noticed that two mice, one black and one white were chewing the rope he was hanging on making it thinner and thinner.the man began to swing with the rope hitting the sides of the well periodically.suddenly he felt something sticky on his shoulder, as he examined what it was, he found out it was honey.upon looking around the well he noticed a bee colony on the wall of the well.the man forgot the dangerous situation he was involved in and started licking the honey to his satisfaction.he suddenly remembered where he was and jumped out of bed. the man was dreaming all along. the man went to a sheikh and asked him to interpret his dream.the sheikh laughed and asked him: "you do not understand this dream?" the man replied "yes sir i don't"
the sheikh said " the lion that was chasing you is the angel of death. the well which housed the snake is your grave. the rope in the well that you were hanging on is your lifetime ticking away. the rodents chewing your rope, the black and white mice are the night and day.the man asks "the honey sir, what is the honey?" the sheikh replied "the honey is the life of this world, and its temptations, which made you forget that there was death behind you and a grave ahead of you.you end up in the grave while savouring the taste of the honey until you find yourself standing trial for your deeds in a court of law of the most just kind"
the above narration was just intended to remind us that we are also busy licking the honey(lost in the temptations of this world) while our lifetime is ticking away. some day (sooner or later) we will also face the angel of death and will be carried to our graves! say: "verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to (Allah), the all-knower of the unseen and the seen, and he will tell you what you used to do."{Surat Al-jumu ah, verse 8}

2011 trends

2011 is hear with a bang! but there is one problem, fashion seems to be getting recycled! so hide back the skinnies and make room in your closet for the wide-leg trousers! yes ladies its back, and its wider, no more hiding our skin tight jeans under the abaya.....which brings me back to the abaya. lets incorporate the trends to spice up a plain black abaya, the trend? animal prints!whether its cheetah printed shoes or a snake skin bag, its hot these season!.but do remember not to wear them all at the same time because 'moin est plus', less is more. team a plain black abaya  with an animal pattern scarf, bag shoes, tights,  or even something as Little as jewellery!

do remember that when wearing a zebra print for example, please do not wear another different print!

ARABITCH! i'm sure we are all wondering what that means, according to my vocabulary, arabitch is a word for a muslimah with style, when i say style, im not only talking about the way you dress, im talking about the way you walk, and the way you talk and obviously a mindblowing sense of fashion! sounds cliche, doesent it? but it is true. as muslims it is obligatory to dress decently without exposing our bodies, so what do we resort to? our abayas. yes our abayas, which have been transformed into fabulous and famous pieces of clothing designed by many such as valentino and the famous emirati sisters, Reem and Hind beljaflah, just to name a few. nowadays the once so plain black abaya comes in a variety of shapes trimmed with various ornaments and colours. they might have a hefty price tag but hey! anything for fashion! on this blog you will see different designs of abayas including my designs, and you will see great ways to accessorise them ,and of course stories and tales that would keep you on the edge of your seat.
